About Already Gone:
Already Gone was produced by my longtime partner/bassist Mike Chiaburu and I. The bulk of the album was recorded at Stampede Origin Studios in Los Angeles by engineer Ryan Freeland (Aimee Mann, Joe Henry), August 21-25, 2006. During the sessions, Mike and I were joined by the incomparable Jay Bellerose on drums. All of the tracks were recorded live over those few days, giving the album the organic feel of a live performance. Keyboardist Patrick Warren added some of his own special magic from his home studio a few months later. Both Jay and Patrick have recorded with the likes of Aimee Mann, Fiona Apple, and Ani DiFranco, among many others, so we're in very good company! Ryan Freeland also mixed the album, then turned it over to Grammy-winning mastering engineer Gavin Lurssen (O Brother Where Art Thou?, Lucinda Williams’ West) who truly optimized its sound.
I feel that Mike and I really put together a “dream team” for this album, and hope that you’ll agree when you hear it!

More about the contributors:
Mike Chiaburu - Mike is a bassist, composer, and producer who has worked on numerous and various recording projects during his time at the University of Michigan - including my last EP release, She’s Been Waiting. He played bass on Already Gone and produced it with me. He’s truly responsible for bringing this team together! Did I mention he did this website, too?
Ryan Freeland - Ryan started out working at the House of Blues studio in Memphis, then worked as assistant engineer to world-renowned mixing engineer Bob Clearmountain. Now he’s in business for himself, and he’s become the go-to guy for artists like Aimee Mann and Joe Henry.
Jay Bellerose - Jay is quite simply Mike’s and my favorite drummer. He rose to fame as part of Paula Cole’s band, but he’s played with any number of incredible artists, including Solomon Burke, Sam Phillips, and Madeleine Peyroux, just to name a few. Most recently, he toured with Ray LaMontagne in the US and UK.
Patrick Warren - To list Patrick’s credits would take up the rest of this website. He’s worked with everyone from Fiona Apple to Avril Lavigne, and everyone in between. He’s our favorite keyboardist, but he’s clearly more than that -- his creative and tasteful arrangements were the perfect thing for each song that he worked on.
